House Paint - which ones are the best to use? Are you starting your own painting or home improvement business and you need to decide which type of house paint to use? Here are 4 important tips about choosing paints you might want to know more about.
These Tips Will Help As A Guideline For Which Paints To Use...
1. A Good Brand Name - Using a name brand paint that is welcomed in any of the finer homes is important. If you think that people don't care about what kind of paint you use in or on their home, think again. Customers do notice brands.
And since the customer that you are painting for is paying for all that labor and materials they will want you to use the best paint available on the market. In my area Benjamin Moore is a trusted name that is welcome in any home.
Now Benjamin Moore has different levels of quality just as all the other paint manufacturers do, so I am talking about using their premium grade of interior and exterior paints when doing custom painting in peoples homes.
Getting to know your paints, primers and enamels is important. For example, now days with oil base coatings being as they are V.O.C. wise, I know which enamels are the best and easiest to use when I need a solvent-based paint.
I also know which enamels I like or that perform best for me when it comes to latex coatings. The same thing goes for wall and ceiling paint. I know what I like best to use and which products give me the least trouble or which ones make the job the easiest.
This all comes through using various products on our jobs. For example, once I find a flat ceiling or wall paint that I like best I tend to stay with it as much as possible. If it cuts in good and leaves a nice, smooth, even surface appearance I will use it a lot.
House Painting - Home Interior and Exterior
in this video by ABN painting we're working on exterior of a stucco house and there are a few things that we need to fix before we can start painting the exterior there are a lot of cracks in stucco of all sizes large and small there are stucco missing in many areas near the foundation there are a few holes in stucco on the edges of the house near the top and there are a lot of cracks on a trim fascia all throughout the house we start our preparation work by moving the gravel a few inches away from the house and then pressure washing is next using a putty knife we scraped any stock that was coming off and we repaired any areas where the stucco was missing to repair any larger cracks on a wood trim of the house we use MH patching compound and then to repair any small cracks we useed elastomeric patch and we applied it with a mini roller to repair large cracks in stucco we used stucco patch and then to fix all the smaller cracks we used elastomeric patch this is the look of the wood trim after we fixed all the cracks we masked the side gate so it doesn't get any overspray this is the wood trim on the back of the house after we fixed all the cracks on the front of the house using tarps we covered all the plants so when we spray paint the stucco the plants don't get any overspray when we are painting near the ground we're using a slightly low pressure so the dirt doesn't get on a freshly painted stucco we continue spray painting the body of the house on most houses we paint trim fascia using a brush in a mini roller but on this house because there's a lot of wood trim we are going to use 12-inch masking paper to mask off the roof tile and then we'll spray all the woodwork using an airless sprayer on the front patio we use 12 inch masking paper that we run along the trim and then we used plastic that we stretched all the way to the bottom after we covered plants with tarps so they don't get over spray we are spray painting trim an accent color now we are spray painting wood trim the back of the house this is the look of the house after we're finished touch-ups and cleanup.
